Mission: Through a variety of programs, leisure activities, and park enhancements, the recreation department seeks to promote a healthy, more active and creative way of life for all members of the community. Through fun, fair play, low key activities, and healthy competition, the Department seeks to provide an atmosphere of camaraderie and a growing sense of self for all of Lumberton's residents.
In a continued effort to improve and expand the recreational programs available to the community, we will be creating several new volunteer positions as "Recreation Commissioners" for certain programs such as soccer, baseball, hockey, basketball and etc. The goal is to get more motivated, knowledgeable volunteers to take an active leadership role in improving our various recreation programs and activities. Lumberton Recreation will also be looking to help start a Booster Club to help raise money to support our youth sports, adult and senior activities and other cultural programs. If you are interested in learning more about the Recreation Commissioner or Booster Club opportunities, please contact the Recreation Director at 267-3217.
