Green Acres Grant Information:
Lumberton Township is applying for Park Development Grant funding from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Green Acres Program. Since 1961, the Green Acres Program has funded the acquisition of open space for recreation and conservation purposes, and the development of outdoor recreational facilities. Green Acres remains committed to preserving New Jersey’s natural, historic, and recreational resources statewide and is pleased to continue the tradition of partnering with local and county governments and nonprofit organizations to serve New Jersey residents.
Lumberton Township is proposing improvements to Village Green Park. The Village Green Park Rehabilitation project would include reconstructing the existing parking lot, replacement of existing playground equipment and surfacing, upgrades to the bathroom facility including the water and sewer services, installation of a programmable LED sign, and other improvements needed to enhance safety, functionality, and usability of the park.
PURPOSE: Lumberton Township is seeking funding through the State of NJ Green Acres Program for improvements at park name located at Village Green Park at 75 Chestnut Street in Lumberton Township.
PROJECT SCOPE: Lumberton Township proposes the following improvements at Village Green Park: replacement of playground equipment and surfacing, parking lot paving, water and sanitary service upgrades to the existing restroom facilities, and installation of programmable LED signage.
PUBLIC HEARING INFORMATION: The public is encouraged to attend a public hearing to learn more about the proposal and to ask questions or provide comments on the proposed plan on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 7:00PM. The meeting will be held In Person/Via YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/@LumbertonTwpnj), as part of the regularly scheduled Committee meeting.
