As part of the ongoing 250th celebration of the Anniversary of America, the Lumberton Township Historical Society held a contest for students of Lumberton Schools. The contest was entitled “250 Years: Past and Present”. Children were invited to use their skills to create a picture, poster or essay with this topic in mind. Winners’ submissions will be on display and awards will be presented to these individuals on August 18th at 4 PM.
In addition, beginning August 18th and through August 26th, the Burlington County traveling exhibit will be on display in the Community Room. The display tells the story of the American Revolution in Burlington County. They include maps, images, and quotes from various events that took place locally. The themes for each are 1776, 1778, writing on the Revolution, Supplying the Revolution, and the NJ Line. Visitors can view the exhibit during office hours:
